Privacy Policy

This policy explains the visitor information this private site may receive, how it is used, and the limits of our role. It does not govern the Minnesota Judicial Branch, MCRO, or any other linked service.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the provider operating that tool so it can process the query and return a result. We do not maintain a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, we retain the message to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, our systems may receive ordinary technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They and analytics services help us understand overall traffic, including which pages receive visits and where visitors leave. You can block cookies through browser settings, although parts of the site may work differently as a result.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the site
  • Directing a query to the applicable partner service
  • Understanding aggregate site use and addressing technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may be relevant to visitors

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court records or personal case information. It offers general guidance about Morrison County District Court records and the official routes to MCRO and Court Administration. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes on this site. Their privacy policies, retention practices, and sharing decisions govern information submitted to those tools, not this policy. Review the applicable provider policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

The site links to Minnesota Judicial Branch resources, court portals, legal-aid organizations, and third-party tools. A link takes you to a separate service whose privacy policy governs your visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.

Some advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across sites for targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be handled by:

  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Analytics providers measuring site performance
  • Advertising networks that place ads on the site
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard measures intended to safeguard information we collect. Internet-connected systems cannot guarantee absolute security, and we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so it can be deleted.

Your Data Rights

You may ask us about visitor information we hold, request a correction, request deletion where appropriate, or opt out of certain processing. Court-record access is different: the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch, especially Rules 4 and 8, govern access to Judicial Branch records. Minn. Stat. § 485.07 addresses registers and related records; Minn. Stat. § 609A and § 260B.171 address expunged and juvenile records. Minn. Stat. § 13.03 is the general framework for county administrative data and does not override court-specific access restrictions.

  • Request a copy of visitor information we have about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information where appropriate
  • Opt out of certain processing where applicable

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.

Effective date: August 27, 2026
